Puncture repair
Can a punctured tyre be repaired safely?
Why puncture position, sidewall damage, run-flat condition, and previous repairs decide whether repair is safe.

Location matters
Punctures in the central tread area are often repairable if the damage is small and the tyre was not driven flat. Sidewall and shoulder punctures are usually not safe to repair.
Driving flat can damage the tyre internally
If a tyre was driven with very low pressure, the sidewall may be damaged from inside. That damage is not always visible from outside, so the tyre needs to be inspected before repair.
Repair quality matters
A proper repair should seal the puncture path and restore air retention. Temporary plugs are not always suitable as a long-term repair.
